I occasionally get an itch for a .41 magnum rifle to go with my S&W Model 57. If I ever happen across a Marlin 1894 FG I might pick it up.

I was just wondering if anybody here had built a 77/41 from a 77/44. If so, how did it go? What did it cost you? Anything unusual to watch out for?

Thanks,

SR

I've been told of a 77/44 being turned in to a 77/45. Besides the rebarrel you need to open up the magazine feed lips for the 45 colt. I imagine it would be pretty tough to make them smaller for the 41. But with the 77/357 there may be enough meat to the magazine to open it up for a 41.

Or better yet and easier...is for ruger to expand the line with more chamberings!

No.... But I have a Ruger #1 in 41 mag for the same reason. And because it is a helluva good round for deer and is safer to use in some areas I hunt where the burbs are beginning to encroach.
