Any love for the LCP 2

I saw an advertisement for an LCP 2 for a pretty good price.

What do you guys think of them? Anyone have one they really like? Or not?

Not sure why, but lately I’ve been really enamored with guns on the smaller side. The Max 9, etc. I’ve got one of those Kimber Evo’s that’s pretty fun to shoot as well.

But I don’t have an itty bitty 22lr, pistol.

Itty bitty 22LR semi-autos are notorious for being unreliable.
Had one, done that. Glad to be rid of it.

I have had one for a few months and I really like it. At first I shot some federal auto match and it hung up every 2 or 3 rounds. But after switching to 550 round federal 36 grain copper plated bulk packs, it has been 100 percent reliably. Like hittman above pointed out small 22 semiautos have been known for being unreliable. I think it is just a matter of finding a 22 round they like. If I were going to carry a small 22 for defense, it would be the LCR.

I have a LCP .22. I had one misfeed from the first magazine full. Since then, zero malfunctions in several hundred rounds. I use CCI Minimags in it and pocket carry it daily “for snakes and other varmints”.

I've got one. I can't remember ever having a failure of any kind with it.

I bought a pair of them, tested both with several different brands of Ammo (CCI, Federal, Aguila) and they both worked fine. They don't get shot a lot, but I have confidence in them when I get to the point of needing one.

I have an old 1980s era Beretta Bobcat .22, and it requires Stingers to work properly and even Beretta says, it needs Stingers . I've gotten by with AR Tacticals and Mini Mags but the caliber might as well be ".22 CCI Stinger "

It gets dirty after a few mags and gets hinky but it's not a range shooter, it's a shoot and scoot defensive gun . I never carry a spare mag with it and I think of it as pretty much a belly gun. I have a Bobcat in .25 that holds more rounds and is just a better , more trustworthy choice for defense

It's too bad .25 Auto is pretty much dead or an LCP in .25 would be awesome. Or even .32 ACP

I'd buy an LCP .22 for a good price, it seems like a handy "run out to the store in sweatpants " gun

I like guns properly sized for .22

It’s interesting, in thinking about both the LCP II and the LCR, both in 22. The LCR is twice as much.

This has always been my experience - not enough gas in the LR for a dependable re-cock- that is until now. I absolutely love my LCP II light rack. VERY dependable ( 100 rounds at a time with no problems). The light rack truly is. Once on target, it stays there. One caveat: Once for fun I put a mag full of sub-sonics through it. THAT will jam it. The ONLY .22lr semi I have found so dependable that it is now my go-to, Love the .380 version as well.

In short, I highly recommend the LCP II. The only thing that could make it better is a higher front sight. However, I painted mine with day-glo orange nail polish and it's all good now.

Here's my deal for a LCP in .22LR...

I carry a LCP in .380 as a backup. Always.

I don't shoot a LCP as well as I would like. And my Wife can tumble pine cones with regularity with the same gun.

For whatever reasons I don't shoot it well, I hope can be corrected with more practice. This little LCP in .22 allows me to get a lot of practice in, trying to overcome the physical restrictions of a mouse gun in a gorilla hand.

Thats the lcp custom. 380 caliber. It came that way with a few other changes including the higher sights. I wish the lcp 22 had those sights, My old eyes have a really hard time picking seeing them.

I have the other end of that spectrum, a Taurus PT22, a clone copy of yours.
Mine would shoot almost anything after being broken in with Stingers, even that horrible blue or green box Russian stuff from the early 90s. After about two mags of that hot Agiula stuff, it split the slide where the barrel tips up. Taurus sent it back and it has been 100% since with a nasty note not to shoot any "Hypervelocity" ammo in it. It runs like a top with Remmington Yellowjackets. It's the only semi-auto I have that will run them.
Still a neat range toy.........once you get past the 30-pound trigger pull. :mad::poop:

I honestly wanted a PT22 and PT25 because I liked the DAO action vs my Berettas DA/SA. Those older metal Taurus 22s and 25s, also the PT92 were neat guns

If you look around at gun shops sometimes you can find them but I'd probably not bother with the paperwork on one at this point

It's CCI's brand of high velocity (not Hyper Velocity) .22 LR ammo. It is considered by some to be the most dependable of run-of-the-mill rimfire ammo. And after many thousands of rounds, it's just run-of-the-mill ammo.

I just did and don’t see two different models, just the LCP II. Then in the description it talks about the “lite rack system”

Is the “lite rack” version just as reliable as the regular model?

As bad as I hate the concept, I'd be tempted to turn it in if there were a gun buyback anywhere near me. Whatever they offer would be more than I could sell it for. :)

The LCP II .22 LR is the Lite Rack. The same model in .380 is not.
