Any advantage to steel ejector shroud?

Well, to keep things going, I've had that stud either shear or pull out of the barrel. As I've said earlier, using some type of adhesive, or even putting another stud in the barrel, has been the best way to keep your ejector assembly in place under recoil.

I know Loc-Tite is not an adhesive, but it makes a full bearing surface between the housing and barrel. And the housing is easily removed with the tap of a mallet.

Count me in as a fan of the steel ejector rod housings. Just to add to the confusion, I have an old 4 5/8" Ruger .357 barrel (no Inc.) with the stud. I have never been able to confirm that it was ever an original Ruger configuration. None of my old model .357's, even my flattop, have the stud.
