I got a new lens this week for a special event this weekend
so I thought I would test drive it at the windmill tonite. Dr.C

 
Jeff: 85mm f 1.4, going today to do photos at a pool tournament, should be good in low light / fast action....hope. Dr.C

Nice shot Doc!!! That 85mm/f1.4 should be a great low light lens. 85MM should give you enough magnificaction that you don't have to get too close and disturb anyone.
 
The 85mm part worked out fine but I missed the zoom for the occasional chick shot across the room. :mrgreen: :mrgreen: Dr.C

Love it.

I like 85MM or so for portrait shots too. Gives enough range to not get in someone's face, lets the background blur out nicely but still retains some detail. I used 85mm and 135mm a lot for portraits and wedding stuff back when I did that kind of thing. As we've discussed, I'm just getting back into photography with digital. Mainly been doing wildflowers, family portraits and some landscape.

Hope I never have to do another wedding.

Doc, I really like your shots. You have a great eye for composition.
