There is an article in this current edition of Guns of The Old West about the 1950 movie Winchester 73 starring Jimmy Stewart. Off camera doing the shots was exhibition shooter Herb Parsons. Parsons used a Winchester Model 71 to do the shooting. And that shot where he shot through the washer with the stamp affixed over the hole was made by him. The producers and some of the movie company had that washer mounted in the stock of the rifle and presented it to Herb Parsons.

Herb Parsons is the one who coined the slogan "Take your boy hunting, and you won't have to go hunting for your boy."

I was lucky enough to get to watch Herb Parsons do his show for Boy Scout camp probably around 1964
He shot BB's off of match sticks with a Daisy Red Ryder for us that day and took one of our beater camp .22 range rifles and shot the center out of a Ace of Spade card with it
