*SSSNNNNOOOORRRRRTTT"* "Hey, why don't we make a pump-action shotgun where you rack the buttstock instead of the slide?"

Said no one ever. Until now.

Introducing the Tokarev TPA-12. I had to double-check the date to make sure it wasn't April 1st.

"Affectionately called." That phrase is doing a lot of heavy lifting. Then again, I believe Tokarev imports its guns from Turkey, so perhaps it was some really high-grade hashish they've gotten into.

It's a solution looking for a problem.

Off the top of my head, the problems:

Pinched fingers
Pinched cheeks
Taking the gun out of firing position every time you cycle the action
That name (and here I thought the H&R Pardner Pump was giggleworthy)

. . . In related news, Tokarev USA's entire advertising staff just resigned en masse.

I see you remove your finger from the trigger guard, move the receiver and barrel forward and back, put your finger back into the trigger guard and fire. You’re moving the weight of nearly the entire gun each cycle. I can’t see where you’ve gained anything.

Perhaps if pump guns were prone to failure an argument could be made for a redesign. At least the Chiapa can argue lower bore center and theoretical superiority in design philosophy.

50 years from now you pull that out for “I’ll be damned” credits at the clays get together.

I dont like normal pump shotguns.

I really really dont like the idea of this pump shotgun.

The folks at Kel-Tec even be like....

I don't understand the Kel-Tec reference, but...

I can only iterate what works for me, or doesn't work.

A pump shotgun that requires complete removal of the hand and finger from near the trigger group, and requires the shotgun to be removed from the shoulder after each shot, would not work at all for me for game requiring repeat shots.

And for those thinking this is the greatest, more power to them. ;)

I can see it already, some dweebs getting fingers or articles of clothing stuck in the mechanism :)
