I've wanted a #1 for a very long time but kind of lost interest when I came to Alaska 30 years ago as they really don't make a lot of sense in this area. After realizing the guns I enjoy most are the ones that really aren't all that practical I went ahead and picked up a #1 1B chambered for the 7 MM Rem Mag it was made in 1985, has nice wood and a great trigger. I stumbled into a couple of boxes of Rem Core Lokt which will give me time to gather brass, bullets and dies. I'm anxious to shoot it as I really don't know what kind of accuracy to expect but am willing to make it work if it needs help. :)

congrats! i hunted with one for a while. great gun! but way over powered for where i hunt. if i could find a 30-30 in the #1 or #3 that i could afford, i would be happy as a pig in slop. only ones i ever see around here are magnums or 270's. i guess a 7 mauser or the 30-06 would do, but i REALLY want one in the 30wcf.

you will like that one! the guy that got mine worked up a load for it and was shooting well under an inch at 100 yards.
