Nope,, I was issued a S&W model 10 as my crew personal firearm,, and it was to be used AFTER I'd used up all the M-60 ammo that went with the 2 M-60's I was issued,,,!

Oh,the memories! Two years ago,I had the privilage of visiting the Army Aviation Museum at Rucker. Several of my son's classmates are Army pilots now. They fly the Blackhawk and Kiowa. I tell them stories of the old Huey. Thanks for the pix! :D

LIKE that helment 8) ---- the 1st. cav. lost more men in Vietnam than any other Division---5,444 kia and 26,592 wounded--- Americal Div. had 3,000 kia & 18,679 wounded :( :(

My helmet was different than everyone else's. We were allowed to dress them up a bit with reflective or bright tape or paint. What you CAN"T see are the 2 Rebel flag decals over each earpiece. I'll have to see if I have others,,,!
