Another 10/22 change...

Traded my third and final SR22 pistol (we just don't get along) for a new 10/22 FS yesterday (blued 16" threaded barrel, black synthetic stock) and was pleasantly surprised to find that Ruger now uses a hex-head action screw.

Not sure when they started (my S/N is 826-89xxx) but it is a nice change IMO. Now if only they'd go with an A1 or A2 flash-hider instead of their proprietary longer version. :mrgreen:

Interesting. I have several 827- prefix 10/22's on the shelf with slotted screws.

Had a thought so checked. ShopRuger.com is showing the hex one as their 10/22 takedown screw now.

Wonder when we'll start seeing the slotted ones being sold at a premium for being "vintage".
