Hi,

Those who've bought brass from Starline directly probably got this story already. For those who didn't, it has to do with some experiments involving sizing, annealing and neck tension in certain rifle cases. It's not the definitive work on these procedures, but brings out an interesting point or two on how the order one performs them affects the end result:

Makes sense to me.
Thing is though, if I was building ammo so close to being over-pressured that the amount of neck tension being applied was the determining factor in terms of it being safe to use...I'm purty-dern sure that I'd be reassessing my priorities...

Just sayin'.

Besides the bit about cold working the necks I thought this was very interesting as well. - "Starline brass has a lower case capacity than Hornady brass due to Starline's increased thickness at the base,".
