Came across this while browsing. Thought it interesting enough to share. You can hide various parts to observe how the 1911 functions. 8)

It's a really well done animation, isn't it? I posted it two days ago, scroll down in the Semiauto forum to 1911 Animation.

I think it's great that people like it. :lol: I also linked to M1911.ORG instead of straight to the animation because M1911.ORG looks like an interesting resource also.

It shows This gun, the STI Trojan which is a Series 70 with some custom STI parts in it. (MSRP $1110!!) No firing pin block. Different guide rod/spring setup. STI has a couple of different bits in there as well. Not completely apples/apples there but close enough for comparison and surely close enough to understand how both work. Both look like excellent guns going for slightly different markets.
