Well Guys,
An Old SNJ-4 Texan and a Young T-6 Texan II

This past weekend we went to Son's (Trey) house in Corpus for the annual Blue Angel Air Show at Corpus NAS. WOW did I ever get a surprise. I knew something was up but would have never guess what. After driving Bamboo Shoots up Grandson's fingernails Thursday he spilled the beans. Trey had bought this 1943 SNJ-4 Texan on Wednesday and was putting it on static display for the Weekend Airshow.
This is quite ironic since he started his Naval Aviation Career at Corpus NAS in 1990 as a NAVCAD flying the T-34C and will end it as a Captain and Commodore/Wing Commander of Air Wing 4. Now he is bringing an old Warhorse back home where it all started for the both of them.
Needless to say the whole family is quite happy and I'm sure the Ole J-Bird is too.

You Started in the N2S Stearman and ended in the SNJ.

What it all started with in 1990. Also the last flight for the T-34C as a trainer was made this weekend. All Squadrons now have T-6s

Yep ! Only real planes have propellers. Nothing in the world like the sound of a Merlin engine at full throttle in a P-51 in a flyby.

Next hard one to best is P &W 4360 at full throttle on take off with ADI. Just wow!

Nice pics ! Kinda sad here, yesterday on the way to my 2nd shift work, got the word that Charles Henry(Harry)Wight has passed on. He is my BIL. He was a Blue Angel flight leader. His name is inscribed on the granite block outside the air/space museum near Dulles airport, "for contributions to space and flight..." I got to sit and view gun camera footage with him a couple of times, cool ! I had a vast respect for the man. There are many sad people in NOVA right now, and here in NE Oh..Sorry, NOVA is N.Va. for most.
