 First Series 'Vaquero'................... First Series 'New vaquero'

IT COULD WORK!

Or Vaquero / Vaquero II or Vaquero / Vaquero LF ( Lite Frame)...........................................

But they don't have that printed on the side of them.

What about the ones that are actually New Vaqueros that are marked simply "Vaquero"?

Thanks again for nothing, Ruger management.

We're eventually gonna have to consider the "Generation" designation concept.

Well there is the MK1 MKII and MKIII.....................................

And that seems to work pretty well. Ruger hasn't blown it all, just some things. The "mid-frame" single-action offerings have clouded the issue as far as I'm concerned.

I haven't actually seen one marked "Simply Vaquero" yet.

Just one of the quirks that makes Sturm Ruger a "FUN" gun company... I like there weirdness!

"First Generation Vaquero" / "Second Generation Vaquero" ("First Gen Vaquero" / "Second Gen Vaquero"), or "Generation I Vaquero" / "Generation II Vaquero" ("Gen I Vaquero" / "Gen II Vaquero")...

Ding ding ding ding ding -- I think we have a winner!

Think about it: When they come out with Gen III Vaqueros (and you know they will!), we'll already have a way to identify them -- Brilliant! Kudos to Ale on this one!

Thanks, but I didn't initiate the concept. Somebody else here did it a short time back. It has worked well for the S&W boys and the Colt SAA's. Just agreeing that we should consider it.

Earlier discussion . . .

FWIW, Freedom Arms uses Mid Frame/Large Frame and Ruger could add Small Frame (Single-Six series).
