Last Oct. Grandson Chad picked up his Girlfriend at Texas A&M for a flight to some Texas Backcountry. Little did she know that he was going to propose to her. Yes she said yes. It would have been a very long walk home if the answerer would have been NO!!! :D :D
Yes as he stated it took some planning to pull this off.
The wedding will be a June wedding in Costa Rica which is where they met during an A&M project

From Chad
"I tried my best to not make the proposal about airplanes, but I just had to fly my beautiful girl into a beautiful location! Thank you so much for being my forever adventure buddy and best friend Emily, I am so excited to spend life with you!!
Also, thank you so much to Tres, Mike, and Clint for helping me make this day of planned proposal and logistical nightmare to work out perfectly!!!"

I just have to ask.. Who would have had to walk home?? :D

Awesome story and pics BTW!

And the traditions continue! :D :D :D

Congrats to the newly engaged couple. I'm sure Emily knows (somewhat,) what she's getting into. And Chad,, he just THOUGHT aircraft were tricky & hard to figure out occasionally! :D :D

(Did I hear buttons popping off grandpa's shirt? I'm sure Jim is a proud grandpa!)

Hey Guys ,
Thanks so much.
Rick, Emily doesn't have a license but boy does she fly. Chad took her on a trip last fall before she started back to A&M. They delivered a Carbon Cub to WA, picked up another took it to TN, picked up another to go back to Austin TX. They flew low and slow over some beautiful country.
Emily is one outstanding young lady. We got to know her better last summer since she lived with us while working in Houston during her summer break. Wifie and I really enjoyed her staying here. Chad was working??????? in Midland, TX and flying, demonstrating, and delivering Carbon Cubs for a TX dealer friend.

Some of their trip pictures.

Hi,

Those are some great picture, Jim! I hope both those kids realize how blessed they are. Thanks!

Thanks Rick,
Oh they both know how blessed they are. Both have to work for what they get.
They will be going to Gainsville TX this weekend for a STOL Competition that Chad has entered in. He will be flying and demonstrating the Carbon Cub that belongs to our Carbon Cub Dealer friend.
They are making it ready with some secret stuff.
