I have shoot several different name brand rounds and have found out my 243 doesn't like Remington core lock rounds. Set scope with hornady rounds with good groups. Used core locks and they were all over the paper target. Went out next week with monarch and had good groups again. All were 100gr. Started reloading my own rounds with 95 and 100gr. Hornady. Good groups. Has anyone else had this problem or is it just me and my gun?

Many rifles show a distinct preference for specific bullets and loads. You can probably develop handloads the gun likes but it may take some experimentation.

Rifles that shoot all factory loads with equal accuracy are rare, and your American is typical in showing its preferences. Find what yours likes and stick to it, or start reloading and find the right combination.

100gr Hornady Interlock always performed well for me in .243, I had mediocre accuracy out of any of the Remington .243 loads. Nosler 100gr Partition over Varget is real nice load, similar in performance to Federal Premium loaded with 100gr Partitions
