Not too long back I stopped in at a not too nearby gun shop and saw a New Vaquero in .45 Colt, with nice looking stag grips. Sooooooooooo,

I bought that .45, took the grips off and replaced them with the black plastic factory grips. Then sold the Vaquero, and bought a New Model Flat Top .44 Special Blackhawk and put those stags on it.

Stopped by the same gun shop this morning. There was a stainless steel .357 Blackhawk with stags, appear maybe to be Sambar stag. Original price was $799, marked down to $599.

Thinking a stainless steel 357 Blackhawk, 6 1/2" would be very hard to move. passed up that lure.

You did good, passing on this one...the .357 is not easy to sell...in that configuration.

Yup, they see you coming and put out "specials" for you. :D

If it's brand new, I would LOVE to have it, even at $600.
However, the drive to TN to get it would be prohibitive. :D

This is not brand new, I think it is a widow selling off her late husband's battery.

But northern Colorado is not that far from Memphis. It's an easy two-day drive and if you stop over in Oklahoma City you can visit the Cowboy Hall of Fame and Shepler's while there. And even if the gun were not worth the drive, the BBQ sure is.

Dear VORTECMAX: Sir I have COMPLETE faith in CHICAGO making a liar out of you. They will not let any - upstart - town out KILL them. if you don't believe it just go up there. P.S. have you will and last effects all done for your family before you head up there. They shoot and shoot a lot. It don't make no never minds as to who - what - or race, mostly black thought. But they will shoot other folks just for equality. I haven't lost a thing on that end of the state and if I did, they can keep it. I'm keeping my Dumb - Hill Billy bottom down at this end. They know a lot about making License plates too..... @ Joliet, Illinois and other state and federal pens.....

Just dangling it in front of you to get your interest. When you think it might get away you'll jump on it like a bass going for a lure. ;)

No prison in Illinois makes license plates. They may have early last century. Since 1979 I only know of one prison in Texas, and possibly one in New York, that were making license plates. There could be others. But none in Illinois.
