Got these in today, the Altamont "Super Rosewood". At $12 or so a set, they're the perfect solution if all you have is the Lett grip body. A while back I was able to squeeze a few sets of just the compact bodies out of MidWay, getting the complete sets of Compacts is nearly impossible these days. Add a locator and these Altamont panels and you're good to go! They have them for the Large Letts and the Compact Letts-SP101 size.

I know the 6" full lug GP looks wierd with compacts on it, but I prefer these over the Large grips.

They fit perfectly in the rubber body, totally flush with the rubber and they even include 3 screws of different lengths so you can find the one that fits your frame with no protrusion.

I may try the Super Walnut next time. I hope Altamont keeps making these!

You might want to order the Super Walnut soon. Altamont makes Ruger grips a batch at a time. i had to wait 4 months to get 4 set of Blackhawk grips. Some items like inserts can take up to 9 months to get them.

Thanks for the tip, I guess I was lucky to get these inserts :o The price is pretty low for these, I'll have to get a few more sets.

I have a feeling that, with the increased demand for Lett grips and the fact that only the bodies are readily available, and the popularity of the SP101......Altamont may be cranking out a lot of these inserts.

Tombstone Grips is another source, for the colored plastic inserts that are clones of the SP101 plastic and the Lett large and compact wood.

I recently paid a visit to the factory. According to them they have slowed down making Ruger grips because of lower demand since they went to Hogue grips and custom grip makers.
