Almost impossible to extract empty rounds on New Vaquero

I was shooting a New Vaquero that was clean when I started. I shot 20 rounds of Hornady Cowboy action loads and noticed empties from 1 chamber where harder to extract than the others. It took some force. Then I switched to Fiocchi cowboy action loads and about the 3rd time I reloaded (38 rounds total into the shooting session), the brass from the one chamber was almost impossible to extract. It would be easier to lift one of those extremely bulky old tube TVs by yourself than get the empty out. It would take about a minute of me using all my might to get the empty to extract. I went through this for 12 more rounds total and became so frustrated I left the range after only shooting about 45 rounds.

This was only happening with 1 chamber. The brass from the other chambers would pop right out with a slight nudge of the extractor.

Check the empty cases that came from the sticking chamber for unusual marks and measure them at the mouth, the middle and the base and compare them to measurements of the other cases from the same points on the cases. Are the sticking cases fatter in the middle than the others? Then check the chamber with at least a 5 power glass for roughness grooves, burrs or whatever. You'll find the reason.

Depending on what you find, it may have an oversize chamber and have to go back to Ruger for a free fix. Call them first and get a free postage paid box to return it in.

Hondo44 has mentioned one direction. It's also possible to have an undersized chamber or a burr causing sticking. A serious inspection of the errant chamber is warranted.

Since the problem got worse as the shooting progressed, I would venture a guess that the problem had something to do with fouling building up in that particular chamber.

Why, I don't know, but it is possible that it is either oversize or oversize, so try inserting one of the empties from another chamber to see if it fits. If it does, then the errant chamber is not undersize. Then try to insert an empty from the bad chamber into the other chambers to see it it might be oversize.

It also might just be rough, but it would seem that if that was the problem, it would have been difficult right from the first round fired. 8)
