I feel like I am being torchered!!! My Service six 9mm came in to my local gun store today, I have to wait three days to pick it up!!! I did get to fondle it though, and It is sweet! It is defineately 98+. Doesn't look to be shot to much, only flaw I see is a slight ring around cylinder. Feels like the revolver was made to fit my small hand!!! I will have a box of ammo waiting to go through it Saturday morning!!!

Sounds like Saturday will be a good day.....I am interested in a 9mm revolver too so dont forget to let us know how you like her.

Oh you funny peoples from the "other side"! Here in Gods country we dont got no stinkin' waiting periods.. and if you have a CHL you can carry that puppy right into the Capitol Building in Austin... Gottta love Texas!!!!!

If you lived in CA it would be 10 days. I think. I spit on states that require "waiting periods". What a waste.

Oh yeah. It's 10 days in Cali for handguns AND long guns. It used to be 15 days on handguns and no wait on long guns. What was it like back in the day you ask? Well, I was with my dad when he bought a Colt handgun in 1970, and his waiting period was 5 days I think. What? How could that be? Who knows. But we had violent radical groups and Charles Manson here in the 60's. Maybe this had something to do with it.

The problem with California is....they let too many righteous people in!

It used to be (back in the good ol' days) that anyone who was a misfit, malcontent, or adventurer that became disgruntled with "eastern society" could simply pack his horse or jump on a steamer and head for Cally-FOR-NIGH-aay... carrying his pistol in his pocket like God intended.

But somewhere along the way, all the miners, prospectors, slippery-women, saloon-keepers and other good folks screwed up and let preachers, temperance-pushers, and actors in and ....well...there went the territory!

Now, California is full of actors and other wierdos who think they make "good" politicians and tell the rest of us what we can and cannot do.

I think we should drill a billion holes along the San Andreas fault, shove a billion sticks of dyn-o-mite in them and set 'er off.... and let it drift on out to sea, taking Nancy AND Ronald (no, not that one,...the other Nancy) with it.

Since 1968 has been 3 day period for handgun or long gun here in Illinois. I wouldn't mind the wait so much but already had to wait several days for it to be shipped. I thought those days would count, but they don't because I didn't have paperwork filled out. Probably woul.dn't have shot it till saturday anyway!

Sounds like a sweet gun you're getting. I'm sure it will be a great "stress" reliever, once you get to the range with it. The waiting period does indeed suck. Here in Floride, if you have your C.C.L. you can take it home the same day you buy it, if you pass the background check. Just one of the reasons I got my license. Good luck and have fun with it.

I hate to correct, but waiting period for a long gun is 24 hours. Unless you're a new gun shopper with no FOID card. In this case you're waiting 6 -12 weeks to get the card. Without the card, a gunstore won't even let you touch a gun.

:?: The best righteous person and ex-actor we let in was our governor from 1967 to 1975 and was President from 1980 to 1988. He was a real California patriot and his contribution to history is indisputable.

Really?
He signed into law California's abortion-rights bill.
Although he wrote a 1976 article for Guns/Ammo "Right to Keep and Bear Arms' that he would NEVER sign ANY anti-gun legislation.... it was RR that signed the anti-Class-III weapons law!
He railed against the nat'l debt running for prez....but tripled that debt his first term in office!
He raised taxes SIX TIMES while in office.
He traded arms to the Iranians for hostages (an impeachable offense which he mysteriously escaped.)
His chief counsel was his wife, whose chief cousel was her astrologer!

Yep. He sounds California all right, and his "contribution" to history is indisputable, all right. I just remain astonished so many folks don't seem to know their history or it's real significance.

Any more posts like this will get this thread moved to the Political section in a hurry.

It would be wise for the poster of this post to delete it, and I will do likewise with this one. 8)
