Attention to those who own our are planning on buying an adjustable sight Bearcat.

The Bearcat Holster sold on ShopRuger.com DOES NOT fit the new adjustable sight Bearcat. Just a heads up......

I have gone thru my rather extensive stash of holsters, and I cannot find anything that even remotely fits. :?

So the writing is on the wall. Somebody needs to step up and make a holster for these neat little guns.

WAYNO.

Barsony on Ebay has a well made nylon holster that DOES fit the adjustable sight Bearcat. I just got one last week and it does it fits my new Stainless Bearcat Lippey model just fine. Mine is a crossdraw belt model.

Review on shop Ruger said the holsters were tight but worked fine after break in. I will also be looking for one soon.

I tried mine in a friends recent production Ruger Bearcat holster and it didn't even come close to fitting. Just sayin'......

There is no reasonable amount of forcing that will allow the front sight of the adjustable-sight Bearcat to fit in the "ShopRuger" holster.

...the bulge seen in the holster effectively captures the ejector rod housing, eliminating any slop that might allow the barrel to be forced into the holster

I wonder if a Bianchi Lawman #1 SA .22 might come close?

...hugely oversize for the Bearcat...

Thanks for the illustration WAYNO!:-)

You are welcome!

Until we find a quality holster, (one-size-fits-all nylon holsters do not qualify) to fit these adj-sight Bearcats, mine will remain in the safe other when at the range, where I can lay the revolver on a table.
WAYNO.

Great pics WAYNO! Has anyone contacted the major custom holster makers like: www.epsaddlery.com/default.aspx

In another thread, Forum member CraigC mentioned that he might make a holster for the adj. sighted Bearcat. I believe his arm could be twisted if he had enough pre-paid orders. His leatherwork looks amazing! What would it hurt to shoot him, no pun intended, a PM?

How about a 4" J frame holster? My 2" model 640 fits in my Hunter 1100-46 Bearcat holster. The cylinders seem approximately the same size? Anyone have one to try?
Looking for solutions to an awesome new problem

My wife contacted Leather Creek Holsters in Gainesville, Georgia (www.leathercreekholsters.com) a few days ago. The owner, Walt Sippel said to give him a week - he's already working on a holster for the new Bearcat with adjustable sights. :D

My wife's new adjustable sights Bearcat holster arrived from Leather Creek Holsters this morning. It's a pancake style, basket weave, light brown leather, and gorgeous. The adjustable sight Bearcat fits in it perfectly - a little snug, but the leather will break in. It has an easily removable leather thong to slip over the gun's hammer spur just so there's no chance of my wife dropping her gun in the creek when she leans over to net a trout.

My wife is right handed, but likes to wear her fishin', campin' and bum around in the hills gun cross draw style, so that's the way Walt Sippel built the holster. As far as I can tell, his craftsmanship is perfect and the holster is flawless. I'm betting it will outlive both my wife and me.

Besides everything else, Walt Sippel shipped the holster without pre-payment. He just included a note in the box asking my wife to put a check for $65.00 (that's $55.00 for the holster and $10.00 for shipping) in the SASE and drop it in the mail if she likes the holster. He asked that if she didn't like the holster, to just send it back.

It's refreshing to run across someone like Walt Sippel, who quite obviously trusts first. I mean, sure we've had a gun store owner here send us home with a gun to try out, and if we like it, come in next week and do the paperwork and pay for it. But we've been buying guns from him for 40 years. Walt Sippel is in Georgia, we're in Idaho - he doesn't know either my wife or me from Adam. He's earned our holster business for some time to come. I'm probably going to order one similar to my wife's for my concealed carry revolver.
