I am sure it has been discussed here, but I just ordered one, and wondered if it is as great as I keep hearing. My mini is a newer 580 series, and it is more accurate that most of the old one's I have owned, but still nothing to brag about, group wise. It is funny though, even though that gun wont group on paper worth a crap, I can set up jugs at 100 yards and hit them all day long, as well as a fairly small steel target about the size of a groundhog. Anyway, what has been you guys experience with the accustrut

I put one on a 183 mini 14. The difference was like night and day. Groups went from 6" down to 2". And no more groups opening up as the barrel heated up.

The Accustrut is a time-proven device which helps a lot with the problems it is designed to address....but it can't (and won't) make up for sloppy bedding or a bad trigger.
As for the 580-up series, even the manufacturer say's that it makes more of a difference when used on the old "skinny barell" guns.

Hope this helped.

Thanks to all! COSteve, that is a fine looking mini you got there. I got my strut in the mail today. It will be next week before I can see how it does.

Tim, I'm curious how your Accustrut works out. I can't bring myself to install one. My minis can reach out and hit a bad guy at 100 yards. I always figured that's all I needed. The only after-market part I've ever put on a mini-14 is a tech sight.

Just got back from shooting it. It did seem like it helped a lot with flyers. My gun always seemed to throw at least one shot several inches from the group, today it was nailing the steel plate. And, it looks cool too! I posted some pics in the gallery.
