Two questions here,
What would be considered normal accuracy using a bench with a front bag at say 25yds with a scoped 22/45?
or a scoped 10/22?

When I say normal I mean bone stock guns, cheap ammo, relatively new shooter.

Way too many variables here. ESPECIALLY the new shooter part. I have taken bone stock Ruger 22 semi's in the hands of new shooters,, with me instructing them,, and have had some of them shoot very nice tight groups,, only to have the next shooter put out a shotgun pattern.

Next,, using bone stock guns,,, cheap ammo, some will shoot good in one gun & poorly in other guns.

That all said,,, I'd say a person who is a good shooter,,, knowledgeable in how to properly bag a scoped handgun, shooting cheapo ammo in a gun that likes it,,, can obtain sub 1" groups in general. Maybe a bit smaller in a 10/22.

WELL UNDER an inch at 25 yards for sure. In 55 years of shooting the Ruger 22 pistols I've NEVER seen one that could not do so. Most would do 1/2" with their favored ammunition and a MKII Competition test gun I had would AVERAGE under .200" with ten-shot groups....of Stingers if you can believe that !!! I was there and was amazed.

And so it goes...

In my experience, a stock, scoped 10/22 with cheap ammo will do between 1" and 1.5" (or a just a bit more) at 50 yards--closer to the inch with its preferred ammo, closer to 1.5 with random cheap stuff. So, I'd say at 25 yards, between 1/2" and 3/4".

Scoped 22/45" I have a scoped Mark II that will beat 1/2" at 25 yards with its preferred cheap ammo. I'd think you should be at an inch at worst, maybe a little better.

A decent shooting 10-22 with a good scope and ammo it likes should "stack 'em" @25 yards. A scoped 22/45 is capable of accuracy to whatever level the user can manage-I've seen 4" 100 yard groups from mine using sandbags.

One small hole. I have a 77/22 that will do 3 in a half inch group, or less. 100 yards. Shoots tighter than my 10/22 Target rifle

I envy you. My 77/22V won't do any better than 5/8" at 50 with its favorite ammo. I love everything about the gun except its actual performance (and its plywood stock, though I live with it).

I have a CZ 452 that has produced 1" 5-shot groups at 100 (and many, many more where 4 out of 5 were inside 1"), but it won't do it on demand--at least not with its favorite ammo to date (Federal Lightnings), though it might with expensive match ammo.

Golden Remingtons. That is about all I shoot. In fact, my Single Six Hunter shoots Rem Gold better than .22 Mag ammo.
I have an old Rem 581 that will put those into 1/2" at 50 yards. This combination will outshoot my 77/22V, and in accuracy is only behind my CZ452 and Anschutz 64.

What are your groups now. Tells us how many rounds are your groups with what ammo and maybe you can get more accurate help.

Was shooting my 22/45 the other day at about 25 yrds and was getting 5 shot 3 inch groups. Terrible I was thinking but havent shot it in awhile so wanted to check others input.

Im gonna shoot some more this weekend with a few 22 pistols and rifles and see what the problem is.

I usually just plink at steel plates so not really looking at group sizes but i have a squirrel that is getting in my soffit. I scared him out into the yard but missed him at about 30 yrds with same pistol so i setup a paper target to make sure the sights were still on. They were on but best group i got was about 3 inches and that was trying to be precise.

Couple of years ago, I had my MarkII Bull Barrel, 5.5”. Golden Rems. I was shooting clothes pins off my clothes line, about 12 yards. Then I beared down and shot 2 of the 3 lines in two. I have never seen a Ruger auto loader that would not shoot well.

My Mark II T678 with a Volquartsen trigger and sear and a red dot gives me a 3/8 to1/2 inch 5-shot group at 25 yards off sandbags. We won't discuss offhand groups.

My RST6 with a stock trigger will do a snowshoe hare at 10 yards about 50% of the time - if I catch him before he breaks, he's a goner. Once he breaks, it's about a 99% chance that he's gonna live.
