A reflective morning...

So this morning I got my coffee and Sporting Classics magazine and watched the sun rise from our screen room. A beautiful spring morning, as I read a couple of hunting related articles. I reflected on all the wonderful hunts I've had over the years. As teenagers chasing rabbits with a pack of beagles, in my twenties shooting ducks from duck blinds well worth the cold feet, enjoying a huge lunch spread with like hunters before the doves start flying, and later in life the trill of seeing a nice buck step into the green patch. (A small pause as the Black Belly Whistling Ducks land behind our fence. We feed them every night.) And another reflection, at 76 I appreciate mornings like this because they are limited. I offer thanks to God for every one of them, good or not so good.

The weather is still nice here in Dallas. My wife and I can sit out back and drink coffee. Very nice to have a calm start to the day. Dogs eat their breakfast outside because they are sloppy eaters.

Glad you have a good place to start your day too! Awesome...

My sentiments nearly exactly. Tomorrow morning I'll be on the salt water in my boat heading to the fishing grounds and watching the sunrise. Every time I'm out there I thank God out loud for another beautiful day on this earth and the many gifts He's bestowed upon me. When I'm enjoying nature, whether it's the animals in my back yard, on the water or a mountain view, I know this didn't all happen by accident.
