Any question about P90 accuracy can be laid to rest with the following group I shot last weekend.

P90_9-15-2012d.jpg

Distance was somewhere around 8-9 yards as I remember the target being behind the 7yrd line at my local range. I was shooting a MiHec H&G 68 clone with a 5.7g charge of American Select. I cannot remember if the primers were Fed 150s or WLPs as they were Iron Mike Golf's loads for his 1911. But yes, that is an entire 8 round magazine in that one ragged hole. :) I shot rested and was actually able to get the base of the grip to rest on the bench while the trigger guard rested on the bag.

I then tried to take the target out to the max of 18 yards but the groups looked like a shotgun pattern. :( But I know it was entirely my fault. Being that I was so thrilled with the above group, I probably got too excited and rushed my shots, jerked the trigger, did not take time to acquire a good sight picture, or most likely, a little bit of all three. That said, with a little more discipline, I am sure that my 18yrd groups would be much better.

What am i missing here? Nice group but no where near the bullseye at 7-8 yards.
You did not miss anything. This is not bullseye competition. I am merely trying to maintain consistency in groupings. In other words, it's not so much WHERE it hits but rather how close each successive shot is to the first hole.

Also, for further explanation, I was doing a 6 o'clock hold on the bottom of the big red ring. I know that due to the way my sights are on the P90 (fixed front, windage only on the rear), a center hold will put it in the bullseye. However, I was able to acquire a better sight picture under the lighting of the indoor range by holding on the red ring. So the bullet went right where I aimed it.

Also, it should be noted that I do a 6 o'clock hold with my Super Redhawk and that tends to put it in the center ring.

Again, I could care less that it is not in the bullseye because that is NOT what I am after. I want a small group size. Now if I put a red dot on the very center and did a 6 o'clock hold on the center dot, then you would get your bullseye.
