My second year production, special order Model 1894. Calibre 38-55, 1X wood, Lyman #4 ivory bead front sight and the very rare DST. I put the Lyman 2A-DA tang sight on it. Bores a little rough but she still shoots just fine. I've killed a bunch of deer with it over the years.

My 40-65 Model '86 made in 1894. She's my oldest Winchester. Heck of a deer killer.

My 45-90-300 made in 1900. Another favorite deer rifle.

Those are some seriously nice rifles. I bet they take you back. Almost makes you want to hunt in period correct clothing. You must hunt in some fairly thick woods. How many deer do you get to shoot a year. Doesn't say what state you are from but I know some states allow the harvest of several deer. You do it in style!!

Thank you guys for the compliments. Bear Paw, in the timber where I hunt most shots are under 50 yards, a really long one would be 75. If I'm hunting open ground I'll have one of my pre '64 Model 70's along. Oh! I'm from western Kentucky, we can kill one buck an all the does we want to buy a tag for. And sometimes I do hunt in period correct clothes.

Seriously beautiful rifles !!! I wish I knew enough about those old beauties to find a good working lever without getting screwed or purchasing something I shouldn't have, in time I will learn I just hope its before they are all out completely of reach, for now I will just have to be satisfied with my old Rossi 92 I guess
