Hey everyone, long time member but infrequent poster. Had to share my joy with you all. I took receipt of my brand new Gemini customs sp101 today. Marc was awesome to work with. Wasn't cheap but oozes quality. Please enjoy the pic, I will update soon with a range report and some pics of my own.

I'd be very interested to see what kind of velocity drop you will see out of what is essentially a 3/4" barrel.

That dark spot is blood from where the wood worker nicked himself (ok ok just kidding). There are a bunch of holes in the top of the barrel why? Porting is generally done at the end of the barrel. By the way shot shells are incompatible with porting. Otherwise a beautiful gun and I hope it shoots real good.

Yeah, kinda of over kill on the porting isn't it?? Only thing that's not ported is the cylinder?? :roll:

I like the dark spot on the grips, adds character. Not a fan of porting though. Feels like a smack in the forehead with every squeeze of the trigger. Nice looking revolver.

I used to think those were the ugliest grips and never could figure out why they made them. That is till I picked up a S&W 686 and held it. I took it home and is the wife's gun now.
Very nice who said you couldn't make a silk purse out of sows ear.

That is a wicked sweet gun. After reading the comments above, I went over and checked out the videos on Gemini's website about the Hybra Porting and they made a believer out of me. For a CCW, I think this is a viable option for a magnum handgun to keep on target in a less than desirable situation. 6 rounds rapid fire from that 357 into a bad guy, lower velocity or not, it is going to stop them in there tracks.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. The more I hold and dry fire this gun the more I love it. I consider it a piece of functional art. It is my ccw piece. Porting is always hotly debated. I read everything I could find online about the process, I mean everything. I couldn't find a single person that actually owned one say a thing negative about it.

I feel good that my wife will be able to fire full house 357 ammo quickly and accurately when I am not around. That is if the 85 pound pitbull doesn't get you first. From what I have read I can expect to lose about 50 to 100 fps due to the porting. With a reduction in muzzle rise of 70% I'm good with it. I understand it isn't for everyone, but in the end it is my gun fight.

I love the character of the grips and wouldn't want to get rid of the black spot. When I have more time and motivation I'll take more pictures. Will be shooting her for the first time this weekend and will provide a full report.

If you are on the fence I can't say enough good things about Marc Morganti of Gemini customs. He is, in a word, a gentleman.

What's with all the negative drivel about what some don't like about it? It's not your gun so what do you give a %$@$ about it? Why not let someone feel the joy without your dos centavos that won't buy you a bad burrito off a Tijuana s*it wagon?

I'm sorry if you found me negative, I couldn't, in fact, be more pleased. I was merely trying to answer some questions and concerns posted by other members. Sometimes I feel intent is harder to decepher on the Internet. It was never my intention to be negative or divisional.

Do those grips lean back at a different angle? Seems like the factory grips are more up and down? Always been curious about that.

I do think the angle is different from the factory grips. It seems to be in perfect line with my wrist.
