Here is Link to the Pics; I would be appreciative if someone with more talent than I have would bring them over. Sonny McMillan did the stock work. This .25-06 started life as the 24" AB. The forearm had been "modified" beyond recognition.

thanks

Nice wood.

Finally a no.1 that shows some of the owners own tastes. Something not ots.

Liked the lack of irons.

Here you go.

Lee. That is one fine looking speciman of a very popular caliber in a No. 1.
Your wood appears to be English Walnut with wonderful contrasting grain color. Is the recoil pad done in leather? I really like the shadow line cheek piece too. I had a Model 70 custom stocked in Claro Walnut and included raised wood for the sling swivel mounts, shadow line cheek piece and schnabel tipped forearm. Does your gun shoot as accurate as it looks?
Great gun. Brass Frame/Lee E.

BF,
The pad is leather. HB, thanks for bringing the pics over! I have only shot it once, with both the Federal 100 grain BT and the Hornady 90 grain GMX.
Was not disappointed with either. I intended to shoot some Federal 100 grain TSX, which seems to always shoot well in the 24" A weight barrel .25-06's. Opened them up at the range- that is not what they were! The forearm does not have a schnabel; it is just short and thin with the ebony tip.
I may have up to 2 "off the ranch" hunts this Fall; it is going to get tried.
This gentleman does the stock work on all of Judge Joe Clayton's custom rifles. "All" is a bunch, as I have lost count of how many No.1 Actions I have provided to him.

Man ... that would be the perfect hog gun ... except for the briars and brambles and mesquite and mud thing :) Gorgeous rifle. And the 25-06 is top shelf as a cartridge for Texas!
