$800 LCR

Check out this auction on Gunbroker. The winner will be paying close to $850 with shipping and transfer fees for this Ruger LCR 327 federal magnum. I am so grateful I bought mine from gunbroker just one month ago and paid less than half that. At the time there were six guns for sale, today there are none. What's going on Ruger???

So is this an indication that most have given up on it ever being more popular or widely produced and they are now collectors items? I've hit 4 well known online ammo sites and can't find any with .327 I was considering buying a sp101 3 inch but the lack of ammo has me thinking twice.

It could be an indication of a lot of things. Knowing Ruger, they probably did a run of the .327 guns all at one time like they do with Redhawks, and we may just be in a drought between runs. There certainly aren't the number of .327 SP101s out there that I would like to see (basically, any at all). Ammo companies may be busy pumping out more common calibers in time for the election season (.327 was one of the few things I could find in stock after Newtown, which is what started me reading about the round). Everybody could be conspiring to push the round into oblivion by simultaneously dropping all .327 products.
Because .327 was never really a round that you could just walk in and buy at the local store, it was pretty much relegated to be a reloading proposition from the start. Which really is a shame because, like .41M before it, it does fill a market gap for "more power with less recoil." The natural consequence of this is that guns and ammo for it are going to be less available.

I just saw that, as I had it on my watch list. Crazy. Even the .327 SP and the Single7 have gone up significantly on Gunbroker, compared to six months ago.
Hopefully, when Ruger makes another run of them, they'll be available again at a sane price.

It could also indicate that it is really successful, so much so that demand is outstripping supplies of both guns and ammo.

The 3" SP101 in 327 federal has long been discontinued. It's still listed in 4.2" but I have yet to find one also.

As a side note during my search for .327 ammo I did find some .32 Long at luckygunner http://www.luckygunner.com/fiocchi-32s-w-long-ammo-for-sale-32swlong97fmjfiocchi-50. I believe I read you guys can run that through the .327's. No other .32 or .327 found but you guys may have better sources.

Got lucky last night and stumbled across a 327 LCR on GunsAmerica. Picked it up for $410 shipped. First one I've seen for sale in a long time and at a price I couldn't let slip by. I've been a huge fan of the 32 H&R Mag and 327 FM since the H&R came out in the early 1980s. Have several Ruger and S&W products chambered in both cartridges. Now if I could just find a Marlin 1894CB that is priced reasonably.

I work with farms with over 10,000 chickens each on them all week long and I have a better chance of finding teeth in one of their mouths than either of us have of finding a Marlin 1894CB that is priced reasonably. :shock:

I really want one bad. I have even thought about spending some bucks to have my 32-20 rechambered to 327. :roll: I might yet do it.

I had hoped that Henry might get on this one... I even emailed their President. He sent a very nice reply that they had no plans of producing that gun at this time.

Whatever one might think of its looks, the LCR .327 Federal is a terrific little revolver. It has twenty percent higher capacity than most pocketable revolvers its size, more punch than all of them except those in .357 Magnum which is marginally better, a terrific trigger, and it's strong, easy to maintain, and accurate. Everything you need in a pocket revolver and nothing you don't.

It's not to look at but as form follows function, it looks just fine to me.

Ammo is starting to reappear, as well.
