Assuming you have the same action length and barrel profile - Yes. The barrel channel can be worked quite easily or may float the barrel as the compact has a different length/taper than a std 22" barrel and that will be the difference. As long as the gap around the barrel is not objectionably large it should go on w/o any problem.
