Has anyone tried the heavy 300+ grain rounds in the 77/44?

Anyone try the buffalo bore , garrett or corbon hot loads ?

Looking to see how the 77/44 handled these heavier rounds ?
Also are the 77/44 barrels 1/20? Twist ?

per this the barrel is a 1:20" twist.

I just got mine yesterday and the heaviest I tested today was 250 gr.

there is one "hot" load from Buffalo Bore (the 340 gr. +P+) which they say only to use in specific firearms, and the 77/44 is not one of them. I wouldn't risk it.

The problem with heavy bullets is the length. They don't fit in the magazine, but they chamber just fine. Mine shoots good at 50 yds with a peep sight, single shot.
gramps

The Lee 310gr flat nose will fit in the mag when the crimp groove is used.

I use them in my 96/44. 20gr of ADI2205 / H110 = 1500fps.
