Just traded for a 77-22 with the "paddle" stock. Can a regular wood or laminate factory stock be fitted to it?? Got a good deal on the rifle, but really don't like the plastic stock.

Yes,, they make a wooden stock that will fit.

The laminates were for a heavy barrel, while it will 'fit' it will have a gap around the barrel. The walnuts will fit perfectly though.
The plastic stock has the trigger guard molded in, doesn't it? If so, you'll need that to convert to a wooden stock as well.
77/22 stocks don't come up that often on eBay, and when they do, they tend to go fairly dear. You might want to look into a stock from Richards MicroFit or someone like that.

What color are your inserts on the paddle stock. Mine are green. I also have a spare set of inserts that are also green. Thought some day I might paint em some exotic color.

What I did with the above Ruger Boat Paddle Stock was to make filler panels for both sides of the hollowed out buttstock. Once I had them made I covered those two new filler panels as well as the Grip and Forend Inserts with Camo Tape and reinstalled everything. I used a couple cross screws to hold the buttstock filler panels onto the stock.
I shot the above Ruger set up this way for a while and eventually decided to totally rebuild it.
I used a Clark Custom Guns 20" Stainless-Steel Bull Barrel with a Volquartsen Custom Laminated Wood Stock (that I reshaped some).
To convert my Ruger Stainless-Synthetic 77/22 from the Synthetic Stock to the Laminated Wood Stock I had to purchase a Trigger Guard, Magazine Filler and Action Screws for a Ruger K77/22VBZ. Yes they came in Ruger's Target Grey (you can get Blued ones also) and I buffed off the Target Grey to make them shiney and match my barrel & action. If I remember right I ordered my parts from Brownells, but I think MidwayUSA has the parts also.

A really inane question. I haven't looked closely yet, but is there any chance that a 10-22 .920 barrel will work on the 77-22??

The answer to that is YES but not without some modification by a gunsmith.
If I remember correctly the barrel shank that goes into the receiver are different lengths. In addtion the Dovetail Cut for the V Block to hold the barrel to the receiver is in a slightly different place. Lastly the 10/22 barrels have only one cut out on the breech face for a single extractor while the 77/22 has two extractors and needs an extra cut out in the breechface.
There are several aftermarket companies making barrels specifically for the 77/22, Clark Custom Guns, Volquartsen, Green Mountain, and Lilja to name a few.
