I wasn't sure if I should post this here or in rifles. I have a 77/22 in .22 Hornet. I love the look and feel of the gun but can't get it to shoot worth a darn. I've tried a number of different hand loading options, free floated the barrel and replaced the cheapie scope that came on it. The trigger is good as well. The first few shots will group quite well, the it starts throwing fliers. I have heard that the slop in the two piece bolt can cause this and that there is a cure involving a shim placed between the two pieces. Has any of you ever tried this? Does anyone know of a gunsmith I can send the bolt to to have this done? I love the gun, but if accuracy can't be improved a bit, it may have to go away.
