In 1972 I bought a burnt orange 340 Dodge Dart, 4 barrel Holley carb, Sun tach, 4 speed Hurst, 4/11 gears, slotted chrome dish wheels, high jacker rear shocks, wide oval tires with raised white letters. When I went to insure it my insurance agent insured it as a compact Dodge Dart. He walked me out the door and said, "that's the car I just insured???" Yup.

Unfortunately we had a bunch of 70’s.
1. Vega GT. My favorite 70’s car, engine blew up at 20,000miles (traded it for #2)
2. 73 Camaro aka Shakey Worst car I ever owned (sold it to get #3)
3. 74 Cheyenne Super Nice truck, BUT, 350 had the power of a weak lawn more, the Number 8 plug and the combination points/condenser having a race to see if the plug would oil foul first or the points/condenser set would fail. At least with the fouled plug I could amble home
4. 1977 Monza. Engine blew up at 60,000 miles on our way for a vacation
5. 1979 Malibu. Nicest of the bunch. Idiot ran into it, so we traded it for our first 1980, and that was a bust.

When I first moved out from home, I was not allowed to take the Torino I posted with me. I had to get a car. I was unwilling to make a payment, had no credit or co-signer. I bought cars I could pay cash for & drove the wheels off of them, often keeping them together with bubble gun & baling wire. First one when I left home was a '75 Gremlin. Pretty decent little car that got wrapped around a pole due to alcohol & exhaustion. Second was a '74 Corolla. It had a five speed & was fun to drive. I wound up selling it after acquiring another ride. It survived me. '75 Buick LeSabre Land Yacht. I messed up the transmission being stupid. Sold the engine to one guy & the body to someone else for parts. '75 Nova 4 door. It survived me & I sold it. Then I put two cars together so I could have a early 80's Vette, Chevette that is. Next was my last 70's car It was a 1976 Camaro Rally Sport. I kind of loved that thing & it pretty much just wore out. I went through all of those pretty much in between '84 & '92 or '93. I was hard on vehicles & myself.
