Did Ruger ever make a exactly 6 inch barrel Blackhawk? I just picked up a new old stock B-square scope mount labeled Blackhawk. Tried to mount it to my 6-1/2 Blackhawk but it ends 1/2 inch short of the front sight what gives. This was a no drill mount now I have to find a gunsmith to drill and tap the frame.

If I remember correctly, the rib had a "groove" in the middle at the muzzle end that went on either side of the sight. Could it possibly be for a 5.5" barrel?

To answer your question,,, no,,, there were not any production 6" Blackhawks made.
I'd be curious to see the mount myself. But,,, before I'd spend the $$ on a D&T,,, I'd look hard at Weigand mounts. Less money & no D&T needed.

Also Weaver 301 mounts work great on Rugers I have 3 Weaver 301's. One .45 Blackhawk, two .44 Super BH no problems, other than a Bushnell scope came loose inside. And Bushnell replaced free
