5 trigger reset failures

I have a SR9c that I have about 250 rounds through. I took it out and shot 50 rounds of Blazer Brass through and had at least 5 trigger reset issues. It fired a round then failed to go back to full ready postion. I have pulled the striker and cleaned both it and the channel. No extra grease in there.
I called Ruger and talked to a rep. He said that 5 failures on ammo like that is normal. He stated he has had many failures with inexpesive ammo. I asked what kind of ammo that they prefer me to use and he said any American made ammo would be better. BTW isnt Blazer made in the US?
I am new fairly new to shooting, I have a little knowledge in this area, but am looking for some veteran advice on what I should do. Should I buy better ammo? If so, what brand? Should i send it into Ruger? ( i did get an ok to send it in). Or something else? Thanks. Dan

5 failures like that is not normal. Not even close. And SR running right will give you thousands of rounds without failures. If it was a failure to fire that would be one thing, but a reset issue most would not jump to a ammo problem, at least not away like that. I suppose its possible, but not likely.

Call Ruger back today, get a new customer service rep, if its the same guys voice, hang up and call again 30 minutes later until you get someone new.

As far as what to do next, I really think the first step is to get someone on the phone that is interested in fixing the problem, rather then diagnosing and blaming ammo without even seeing your gun.

Call Ruger back. A failure to reset the trigger is one of the problems associated with rushed production pressures. PERIOD! If you get a service rep that tries to brush you off with a claim like the first one did ASK TO SPEAK TO HIS/HER SUPERVISOR!

I did get a return label sent to me. I just took the trigger assembly apart an noticed I putpin # 53 in backwards. I noticed that a tiny wear mark in the pin where the retaining groove should have been. Do you think that could of caused the problem?

I did have one issue in my first 100 rounds. It was the first round in the magazine. Then the next 50 had no issues. I took the trigger assembly out to do a detailed cleaning. Put it back together with the one pin backwards and then had 5 trigger reset failures.

I just shot 50 rounds with no issues. Looked like it was operator error. Thanks for the help. I am chalking it up to a learning experience.
