I'm looking at a 454 SRH 7.5" magna ported bbl. with 125rnds of ammo.

Well I'm the proud owner of a SRH 454. He wouldn't go any lower then $600.
But it came with 2 receipts. One for $115 factory magna port job & the other for $182 for Herrett custom fit finger grooved hand rubbed oil finished grips.
Plus the original grips & 111 rounds of reloads. And a hunter brand holster.
I think I did ok.

You did good !!! Nice looking rig. Now, tell me, what is with that rear sight? It does not look like any of my factory sights.

But I see you got things very well under control and also have grips and holster to boot!

No rings. He didn't have them. He had a base on it with a $200 red dot scope.
I'm not a fan of red dots (of any make or model). And he wanted $750 with the scope set up.
I figured with everything I got it was probably worth about $800.
I'm sure I'll get a set of rings & have been looking at Leupold scopes online already.
I first have to build up my sock money again.
I always thought about getting a SRH 454 with a 9.5" bbl. to get the most velocity out of it. But when I saw this, I was like what the hell why not.
And I never really like the looks of the SRH. Always thought Ruger should have made it a full lug bbl. like on the GP's. I know it would have been a heavy sob but it would have been sweet looking.
I'm pretty sure this gun will grow on me.

A SRH with the original Lett grip installed is the most comfortable double action for me to fire with standard .44 mag or heavier loads. While you're shooting you only feel the grip and see the sights. You are right. After enjoying it at the range the side view will grow on you.SweetWilliam said:

It locks up tight. I'll be able to shoot it over the weekend. I'll post a range report.

7x leather makes a fantastic chest holster. Really wonderful guy to deal with too.
That's what I carried my SRH 454 in before I sold it. Still have the holster sitting around waiting for a new gun to be put in it.
