I recently purchased a new model 45 Colt with the lock 7 1/2 " barrel . Gun shoots way to the right had to move the rear sight almost all the way to the left. Front sight looks good not canted to one side or the other. Any ideas .

First the usual questions:
How far away was the target? How far was the gun shooting to the right? Did you try shooting off a rest? Did some one else shoot it and get the same results?

Any chance you could take a pic of the 45 from behind looking forward so that the whole front sight is visible?

Right handed shooter 25 yrds shooting 6-8 " to the right resting wrists on a sandbag barrel unsupported have 15 other rugers 22-44 never had this problem. As I said nothing looks any different than any of the other guns as far as the sight goes. going to try again tomorrow.

Wow, 6"-8" at 25 yards would mean the sights were offset by a total of almost .085 inches. That would be a noticeable cant on the front sight. Any burrs or damage on the crown? Does it spit lead at the cylinder/barrel gap?
