Actually, this bullet in both solid point and hollow point configuration is meant for ALL .45 Colt caliber handguns.
The large hollow point will work well (with the proper alloy) at typical modern .45 Colt revolvers at 850-900 fps well within SAAMI specs.
The smaller hollow point should work well with "Ruger only" loads.
The solid point will work with ANY modern Colt at any reasonable velocity.
This VERY versatile PREMIUM bullet mould should be in every .45 Colt Bullet casters tool box.
I will be using mine in my .45 Colt Ruger Bisley Vaquero and my Ruger SS Bisley .45 Colt/.45 ACP Convertible.
I cannot imagine a better combination than that bullet in my .45 Colts.
In the past, hollow points have been slow to cast in single cavity moulds. I have several Lyman hollow point moulds, and with some attention to detail I can cast very good bullets with them. However, it is SLOW, SLOW, SLOW.
With the pictured MiHec Cramer Style mould (in my .44 Keith H&G #503 as I am waiting on delivery of my .45 Colt mould) I can run 15 lbs of finished bullets with almost NO rejects in an hour and twenty minutes. That is excellent production of hollow point bullets.
Super product! In the spirit of full disclosure, I will say that I honchoed that Group Buy on the Cast Boolit Forum. I have no financial interest in MiHec moulds but I am CERTAINLY a fan of them.
