45 Blackhawk barrels????

Are NM , OM and new mid size Flattop 45 cal barrels all the same size? Can a new barrel be fitted to OM 357 for ACP conversion?

I'm not 100% certain but believe, except for minor "shoulder" issues, the answer is yes.

Dig out your copy of Kuhnhausen's book and look it up.

I had Alan Harton down in Houston convert an OM .357 to .44 Special. I used a 4 5/8" Super Blackhawk barrel.

Alan reduced the barrel diameter a mite to match the midsized frame. I would imagine that a .45 barrel would need a similar modification as well.

Yep Alan put NEW Ruger barrels on my Flattops that were converted to 45Colt. He just happend to know one of the few Guys that could buy whatever he wanted from Ruger. :wink:
