For those who have never fired one here's what it's like. Nothing fancy just a short video I shot with my phone less than 2 minutes in length.

I know that, in many cases, cylinders must be fitted to a specific revolver, but are .45 cylinders for the New Model Blackhawk and the original Vaquero substantially the same size? Thanks.

Ah...making gravel with .45 ACP!

My recent Bisley Blackhawk came with the .45 ACP cylinder and it shot well with it.
However the .45 Colt cylinder seems to have a smoother fit....the ACP cylinder feels like it may be
a bit looser on the cylinder pin.

I will use mostly in .45 Colt form since it can handle my heavier Colt loads.

I should have phrased my previous post more carefully. My question is, is it theoretically possible to fit a .45 cylinder from an older New Model Blackhawk to an old model Vaquero. Thanks.

Yes it is possible since they are the same frame size.

I have had a 7 1/2" 45 convertible Blackhawk for about 25 years. I definitely use the heck out of the ACP cylinder, probably more than the Colt cylinder. I wouldn't half mind having one in a Vaquero.
