I have two 44 mag blue, CC Vaqueros. Both are relatively early with 55 prefix serial numbers. The 5 1/2 " version shipped Dec '94 and the 7 1/2" Vaquero shipped Feb '95. I don't shoot them much - I prefer to shoot my Supers in 44 mag. I had these out for wiping down/cleaning and thought I'd share a photo. I don't see many of the 44 mag Vaqueros around for some reason.

Me either, particularly SS versions.

Those make a nice pair.

I have a 5.5" CCH and really enjoy shooting it. It is has proven to be very accurate, and even better the sights are properly regulated to hit POA at 50 yards with a 240gr hardcast running about 1150fps.

I had a chance on a 7.5" CCH for a reasonable price not too long ago but thought I'd pass. I probably would not have if it had been SS, even though I already have a 'Matt Dillon' 7.5" SS Vaquero in 45 Colt.

Nice looking shooters.

I have two 5-1/2" Case Color/Blue .44 Magnum Vaqueros. I really do like the 7-1/2" Case Color/Blue .44 Magnum Vaquero, but just don't know what I'd do with it. Maybe get some leather for it and hang it on a hook in the den, ala Marshal Matt Dillon.

Of course the den has a sea-going motif based on my first career.

They're out there! We're just a quiet bunch--until it's ka-boom time :). Really enjoy my two 5.5s. One blued/CCH, the other SS. Both POA/50 without any regulatin'. Got them both 10-15 years ago slightly used ("car lot" new)--still are in like-new shape. The SS sports a set of Carl's fine American hollys, the other some Ajax "silver black" laminates, a nice match for the blue and mottled CCH. I'm away from so can't tell the VINs on them, but they too are relatively early ones. Can't beat a .44 Mag Vaquero!

The color on the frame and the grips are nice on those two cellar701

There are a few stainless 5.5's around

cellar701,

That's a nice pair of Vaqueros. It's getting unusual to see box stock Vaqueros and Blackhawks that have not been Bisleyized or fitted with the ugly SBH hammer.
Thanks for posting the pic.

Joe

Here are two Vaquero's that I have. They are consecutive and have engraved cylinders and are fitted with Ivory style grips from the factory. They are mint in the boxes with all of the paperwork. Oh! By the way they were shipped from the factory as a consecutive pair. RENE states less then 350 made total. Consecutive pairs from the factory would be very rare. It's a shame that Ruger doesn't make the Vaquero in 44 Mag. anymore.

Original Size VAQUEROS/BISLEY VAQUEROS in 357 and 44 are my main interest...I'll buy any I can afford at a decent price. I don't have any numbers on total 44 magnum VAQUERO production, but John Taffin said "only about 5% of the VAQUEROS were made in 7.5 inch barrel length." There are NO factory 7.5 inch BISLEY VAQUEROS that I am aware of. The "clean up run" guns from spare parts in inventory? are selling pretty good on gunbroker and auction arms.

I've got a couple of BISLEY VAQUEROS, and others fitted with either a DRAGOON or HUNTER grip frame. The latest guns...awaiting a trip to Jim Stroh at ALPHA PRECISION for fitting and tuning...also have SUPER BLACKHAWK hammers. This must be fairly popular because MIDWAY and BROWNELLS seem to have trouble keeping the hammers, HUNTER grip frames and ANY BISLEY parts in stock. I modify my guns to suit myself.

Differences of opinion is what makes political elections and horse races.

Street, those are NICE!

Thanks, too bad Ruger quit making them.

+1 but as mentioned, they seem to be "clean up run'd" more often than one would have anticipated,...nice for those that missed out earlier.
I'm one of those that have converted to the "ugly" SBH hammer--but only on the New Vaq's, where I couldn't abide the overly high/long back-swept hammer. The older Vaquero's (aka Blackhawk's) shorter, closer-in spur is more comfortable than the NV's stock hammer to me, and I have left them alone. I really do like the function of the SBH hammer, but have thought of converting one of my NVs (with SBH) "back" but to the regular Vaq/BH hammer, just because--to have one with a more traditional set up. Someone posted an NV here recently so-equipped and it looked "right." Shades of the good ol' original Vaquero!

RBNV-475. 56-prefix Bisley Vaquero .44 5.5" with Grashorns Elk Grips. I do like the Bisley in a 44mag.

I've got a 57 series # on lay-a-way in SS and 5.5 barrell. Apx. 1999 run. It's practically like new. Can't wait to get it out within the next couple of months! When I found it at the gun shop I wasn't even aware that the Vaquero had ever been offered in 44 Mag! I was very excited to find it. It's at a shop I buy from regularly and they gave me a great deal on it. 375.00!

Wow, there are some nice 44 mag Vaqueros out there.

I'm a little embaressed about this  , but I forgot one I had in the bottom of the safe. I bought it while on a vacation trip awhile back and really hadn't done anything with it, including putting it on my inventory list... Dug it out today:

I just gobbled these two up in the past month.
44Mag Bisley Vaquero's!
These are the only revolvers I have ever owned.
I am..... well.... in love with them!

hi

I've got one, and had it disassembled and glass bead blasted it myself in the father-in-laws workshop

I love it, but I have to admit I still haven't figured out how to use it precisely in a repetitive way...

best,
Ingo
