I have seen a ton of 44/77 rifles suppressed. but, I haven't seen a 44 carbine/deerslayer suppressed. Has anyone tried this yet? My next can will be a 45 and I'm thinking of getting one that will handle the 44. I just don't know if the action will hold up to the added pressure.

Thanks!!
Matt

Deer slayer is an autoloader so it’s not going to operate reliably with subsonic ammo.
You’ll want to use subsonic ammo with the suppressor to maximize the noise suppression. You need certain amount of power to operate the loading mechanism of the rifle and subsonic ammo may not provide enough oomph. There is also the issue of using cast bullet in the auto loading rifle.

These issues would not be a problem in bolt action rifle.

Mine shoots cast and subsonic just fine. It cycles with specials without issue. My question is kind of opposite of this. Suppressing a rifle creates much higher pressures and I don't want to damage the action. I'm looking at the Silencer Co Octane HD in 45. This can will handle 44mag pressures and is user serviceable, so you can shoot cast bullets through it. I just don't want to kill my rifle doing it.
Thanks!!
Matt
