Thanks for the reply's. I already have the 10" Bull version so I just scratched the vent rib version off my wish list.

Top of my wish list is a .45 Colt only 10" octagon.

Personally, I like the Bull Barrel best. Mine came with the VR and I swapped
it with a guy I shoot with now and then for the Bull .45/410. Neither of them
are much good at all after 20 yds. At 10 yds it's a heck of a good snake gun
to have on the tractor.

bookendano, Your 10 yd and 20 yd patterns look very similar to the results I got on the pattern board with a vent rib contender.
I didn't see the need of going to 25 yds do you? Love the gun though. I like that you
can change to a different barrel and/or caliber and not have to re-zero. Here's a zero
of the .223 done 3 yr ago and if I shot a pattern today, it'd look the same.

According to the SiteLite program I have, a 25 yd zero with the 55gr FMJBT bullet in .223 from
a 10 inch barrel shouldn't rise more than .5 inch and zero again at 100 yds. Around where I
live in the woods, that's perfect for coyotes, feral dogs, garden robbing whistle pigs and
other varmints. I've found that the added weight and better grip of the Pachmayer grip
and forearm aid in shooting when off-hand.

Thanks, the .222 Rem has an identical scope on it now. I agree, I don't
see the pattern reversing and getting any tighter.

I really like the old octagon barrels. They seem so elegant. From round to a tapered octagon? There was no need to do that. It could have been tapered round much easier.

10" octagon.22LR .22Mag .357Mag .44Mag 30/30

10" Bull .357Mag .45/410

14" Bull .22LR .223 30/30
