Did Ruger ever make a stainless sporter with a walnut stock as in K10/22DSP? Like this only stainless.

I have a K10/22-22 which is stainless but with a 22" barrel and a birch sporter stock.

I always thought those were called Deluxe stocks, not Sporter.

Thanks, that's what I thought. Just been thinking what a neat little rifle that would make..........

And yes, I've gotten into the sloppy habit of calling them sporters rather than Deluxe Sporter.

If you're looking to make what you want, S&P Outfitters has many new, take off Ruger parts, may have a Walnut DSP stock to swap out your birch. Ruger hasn't made, that I'm aware of, a walnut stocked DSP with a blued 22" bbl and sights. Bought a take off 22" bbl from them, to make the "model" I wanted. I guess it's disregard, if you're looking for a factory model! Bill in MA

Thanks NH Rugerman, but I was aware of those. I'm afraid my gaze is planted firmly backward. Not a walnut stock, butt pad rather than the plastic butt plate and I don't think I will ever warm to a black plastic trigger assembly in a "stainless" receiver. Oh well.

I did notice the designation.

Thanks msp2640, I've been toying with the idea. If enough parts come along, at the right price, I might. It's way too easy to get way too much money in a project like this.

From what I am seeing is all the new stainless Sporters w/18.5" bbl are coming with "Walnut stained" hardwood stocks. I'm guessing maybe Talo or Lipsey's may pop out a few walnut stainless with the 18.5" barrel. It's still early yet in 2025, maybe Ruger will put out a few in stainless come fall.

The only alternative I can see is take a 31228/9 and 01102 and swap stocks.

Just an added thought, as I've seen a good amount of new Altamont 10/22 stocks in various forms, on GB for sale, as another source if you go down that road. I literally wanted the longer barrel on my DSP, because I wanted to utilize a receiver mounted peep sight with a Lyman "globe style" front sight. I forget the rear sight maker, but it was bolt on to the rear scope mount holes - bought the correct height Lyman sight, but the dovetail width on it, is wider than the barrel base. Awaiting my brother in law, a machinist, to shave the sides of the Lyman front sight, the match the Ruger base, before install. I have others to shoot, but it's taken nearly 5 yrs to get to this point for me, obviously not a high priority! Cheers, Bill
