.41 Mag cast Bullet Question.

I have a quantity of 215 grain hard bevel base SWC bullets and some H 110 powder. I cannot find a recipe in the Hodgdon site or my Speer or Lyman manual.

I do see on the Hodgdon site that using a 220 grain Speer JSP with H 110 they recommend you start at 18 with 20 as the max.

Is there a way to extrapolate that data to work with the 215 cast bullet?

Not sure I would try that bullet with H110. Afraid it might not like being pushed that hard as 110 seems to do better in higher pressure range. With the bevel base you may be asking for trouble as in leading.

I do shoot that same basic bullet with Trail Boss for very mild loads and Unique for middle of the road with no problems in my Blackhawk.

Gotta disagree with Chuckbuster here. Hard cast bullets work best at higher levels of pressure/velocity. Use the date you cited as a guideline and give it a try. Pressures are usually somewhat reduced when using a cast instead of jacketed bullet.

I use the exact same bullet but do not use H110.
10grs of HS6,R-P brass and a CCI large pistol primer is more than enough for me.

My big concern was with the plain, Bevel Base and potential gas cutting.

Personal preference is for a Gas Check or at least a properly fitted flat plain base at H110 load levels.

A 215 grain bullet is an odd weight.
Go with the 220 grain cast bullet and you can not go wrong.

Try 20 - 22 grs and see how that goes, you can go hotter but I use a 21gr load of W296/H110 and it shoots like a laser in my OM 41.
