I'm looking for a leather holster for my 4" SP 101. In particular I'd like the 2 belt loops to add stability over the single loop in the center. I think I would prefer a retention strap, not essential though , 'woods carry' type use.

I did find a vender or 2 that make them, mostly for the shorter barrel length. I did try my 4" 'K-Frame' holster & the SP 101 fits fairly loose in it. Right now I have a cheap nylon type holster that does O.K..

Just looking for ideas, didn't see much with a quick search.

Yes, I do have some 'S R' holsters, & that is a top contender for this SP 101.

Yes, I found a slightly used simply rugged holster, made for the 4" SP-101. It fits great.

I've been carrying my 3" in a Lobo Leather OWB almost daily, in every type of weather we have in East Texas, and it just keeps getting better. If he makes it for the 4" now, it's certainly worth the price.

I've owned both the simply rugged and the triple K, and now just own the triple K. For about the same price, the Triple K is suede lined and has a thumb break. The simply rugged was nice, but didn't hold the pistol very secure if you are crawling under downed trees

is that the sp101 357 in 4 inch? they are hard as heck to find. i want to get one and compare it to the gp100. i am nearing my search for all round 357-range ,carry, hd. i like the heft of the gp100 (i have 6 inch and sold my 3 inch need better sights) but the idea of a lighter weight sp101 to wear hiking and ccw (sold my sp101 3 inch same reason sights) is appealing. still giving up a round is kind of got me twitching.

It is. I, too, bought it for HD and hiking, but now that it will no longer fills that role, I wish it was the GP100, but either way I'm far from unhappy. I bought it almost a year ago and it was hard to find then.

Pretty much all Ruger DA revolvers (or anything else for that matter) are impossible to find now.

Either 4" or 6"... I got the SP101 for HD and hiking. The reason I settled on that was because I wanted the power of .357 in the woods and .38's for HD and the range. Ammo was plentiful "back in those days" (meaning last March) and I had no other firearms then so it was a good option and fit both roles well.

My collection has grown a bit, so I've since replaced it with a semi-auto 9mm for home defense, and I have a 10mm on order for woods carry.

The SP101 is relegated to range use at this point, and it's a good starter handgun for me to teach beginners with after they have some time behind a .22. For it's intended uses, it does a great job, but for range only, I just enjoy the larger frame GP100.

Sorry to the OP, as I didn't mean to take the holster thread off topic.
