4.2" vs 4" bbl GP100's

Just curious, and sure it's been discussed, but kind of hard to use the search function to find it.

Have "four inch" GP100's always really had a 4.2" bbl or were they 4" and then sometime later changed to 4.2" to make it easier to import for our Canadian friends?

They were 4" and then changed.

The full lug models were always 4.2", weren't they? If so all they did was drop the half lugs.

All 4" barrels were 4 inches long. Give or take a bit. But now they are all more like 4.2" long, give or take a bit. I would check with C.S. on the change date; I think it was made at different times for different lines.....starting about 5 or 6 years ago....
