My aunt and uncle are in town visiting. Sunday he asked me if i would sight in the crimson trace grips on his carry gun so off to the back of the place we go. I set up at 10 yards and fired a few test shots. The gun was shooting 8-10" above the laser (and guns) poa. So i dialed in the grips for the poi and got it hitting right. Off a sandbag i put about 5 shots in about a half inch group. This is a 2.5" Taurus with bobbed hammer. I was very pleased with the grouping altho i wish the poi more closely matched the iron sights poa.

Anyway, while shooting, a stinkbug lands on the cardboard target. I stand up and jokingly tell my dad and uncle to watch me hit that bug. Bang, flop! I actually hit it. 10 yards, off hand, first shot. I was pretty excited!! The ol gun shoots.

Load is 4 grains of 231 and a 158 gr cast RN.

The kill... Took his head clean off! Weak stomach need not apply!! :)

Getting him out wasn't a problem. We were right by the truck...

it's all in how you cook it... toothpick shish-k-bob and a slow roast over an open fire! Great lil morsel!

Once you get past the smell.

No more than the number of rounds you have on you at any given time. Killing two with one shot is strictly forbidden!

Guys, this is where you gotta know the regs. I don't believe 'leaf-footed bugs' are in season, whereas stinkbugs are.

You have a leaf-footed one there, and this might cost you big time.

Send me your firearms for safekeeping, so they won't have to turn them in to the authorities.

Hmmmm i think im gonna have to research that a little bit. I was thinking this qualified as a stinkbug... Especially if you cant see his head...

Either way send me your address and i'll mail my guns to your house... Just in case.

:)

:) I showed it to my friend, who is an entomologist - and he was the one to say 'it's a leaf-footed bug', something I hadn't noticed myself - I was thinking it was a cool shot! Well, then he said "at least it's in the same family"....

Good shot either way!
