My son called the other day. Someone had given him a box of .38's, which he promptly shot 5 rounds out of his SP-101 (2.25 inch barrel). The casings were stuck in the cylinder. Liberal amount of WD-40, and a cleaning rod removed them. I asked if reloads-no, factory. That was when I had him read to me the markings on box and casing. Oh yeah, he shot an auto round in an unmodified revolver. Sigh. I thought I taught him better.

If loaded to their original specs, both the .38-ACP and the .38 Super headspace off of a (somewhat small) rim, and utilize a crimped 130-FMJ bullet. I've shot both in two different 3-Screw BHs without issue...and yeah, they ejected just fine.

Not sayin' that anyone else should do it.......just sayin'.
