Just picked up 2 of theses rare gems, looks to be fired very little and the orig owner filed the grooves off the back of the hammer to make it more comfy when cocking. I see these are popular in some of the ruger collectors and cowboy shooters. I'm looking to sell them as I'm not setup for reloading that round, I think I'll know what to ask and does the only small modification he did to the hammers devalue them if any. A lot of cowboy shooters change them out to a superblackhawk hammer anyways so hmmm. I have the black boxes and papers with both and all the cylinders basically niw....I'll get picks in a few days

Any modification has the potential to turn off part of your potential market, especially in the collector community. So it depends on your potential buyers. Some will shy away and some will only pay some lower price, it's a price negotiation issue.

A potential buyer may be considering his or her cost to replace the modified hammers; certainly anyone purchasing for a collection will. Others usually will want to make their own personal modifications. It's clearly an issue in any sale.

Hope that's helpful,
